Twisted Tales to Delight and Amaze

Mavelda

Mavelda promised her mother on her deathbed to continue the family tradition of caring for the oracle.

While her childhood was spent learning how to make potions, talismans, and spell-casting, she just wanted to be a normal kid who graduated high school and settled down running an organic bakery like her cousin.

Unfortunately, her wish was not to be granted. Mavelda’s older sister had run off with a chiropractor and lived in suburban LA with two children and a mortgage.

So, when her mother suddenly became ill and died, the family tradition fell upon her shoulders.

The high Wizard entrusted the oracle to their family 13 generations ago, and it was one of the most precious artifacts known to witchcraft.

So, with a heavy heart, the young witch arises early, brushes the oracle, and then makes a breakfast of fried eggs, bacon, and a small bowl of cream of wheat, which she severs on an obsidian platter to Au-f-ni, a 5000-year-old cat.

Au-f-ni likes his eggs running and his bacon crisp. Such is the life of the keeper of the Oracle of Mehtem-wes-khet, a powerful being who can see all of the past, present, and future in the blink of an eye.

Someday, Mavelda hopes to give the cat to her cousin and start an organic pizza parlor. Until then, she cares for Au-f-ni like an old family friend.
