Time was running out as the three magicians began the spell. Yells and hoots came from the village’s far side as the Troth attempted to drive out beasts to slaughter for their evening meal.
“Let us begin, and remember to focus your thoughts on the spell “Evanescere” if this is to work,” said Fern.
Speaking in turn, each magician recited the spell and added their part to the potion in the cauldron.
“I believe it’s working,” said Nikomedes.
“Yes, I can no longer see the town square,” replied Franny. The gathered townspeople welcomed them into the perception field. All stood motionless and silent as the Troth scouting party strolled around the buildings and out of the forest, never suspecting an entire village lay a stone’s throw away.
“Nikomedes, you have saved your people,” said the council leader, Upendra.
“I could not have done it without my friends. They are the real heroes,” said Nikomedes meekly.
“The three of us are just glad the wee folk will be spared from the ravages of those Troth demons,” said Fern.
Knowing there were still others to help as the Troth army moved closer, Fern, Franny, and Izba bid farewell and headed back to prepare for the battle with Mörken and his evil minions.
Snip, Snap, the Wee Beasties Tale is all told out.
