I banished Mörken the Dark One a while back to the void where I thought he would stay. But, like Professor Moriarty, a good villain is nearly impossible to shut away.
With his evil dark elves, the Troth, Mörken’s greed and arrogance allowed me to explore the darkness that lives in most of us.
Mörken was a petty person who rose to power not by his strength of character but by his ability to twist words, promise hope to the hopeless, and always appear the victim.
The Troth saw the Waldvolker, the stories’ victims, as weak and deserving of the suffering they endured. In the real world, persons like Mörken are seen as “strong men” and adored, followed thoughtlessly, and protected by weaker wolves in sheep’s clothing.
The Folksburywoods Story Blog serves many purposes, one of which is to provoke deeper thinking in both young and old.
With that in mind, I have decided to return the Waldvolker series. Mörken and his Troth will again illuminate our ability to ignore the suffering of those not of our tribe.
New evil-doers will join the cast along with Mörken the Dark One for an occasional dark tale on the Story Blog.
Wishing You Well, Cheers Auntie Millie and Co.
