A King Without A Throne: The Battle for Hyperborea.
The King sits on his pedestal, staring intently into the distance. “When will it come? The sign must come before the end time, or we are lost forever,” he remarks.
Twenty-three hundred years ago, there was a great battle at the world’s edge between the Scorpiod King and the Olympian Gods for control of Hyperborea.
For a thousand days, the oceans boiled, and the skies burned as wave after wave of Scorpoids attacked the Olympian’s northern fortress.
Then, just as the Gods were about to lose, Poseidon released the fury of the Leviathan. Fear swept through the Scorpoid ranks, allowing the Olympians to decimate their forces.
Those who remained scattered to the four winds, leaving their King to face the wrath of the Gods. “I do not fear you cloud dwellers, for our people hold a prophecy which speaks of your powers fading, and we will again rise to reclaim Hyperborea,” the King told the tribunal.
The war weakened the Olympians, preventing them from destroying the Scorpoid’s King. Zeus proclaimed exile for the King. “You shall be a King without a throne or subjects to bend a knee before you until the end of time,” said the Olympian.
The Scorpiod’s King was left alone forever on a pedestal at the world’s edge. “Let the sea creatures adore you high upon your platform. Let them see how the arrogant fall before the might of the Olympians,” proclaimed Hera.
The King searches the skies for a sign to summon his scattered people and attack the weakened Gods. “When will I see the firebird dance across the sky to release the Sword of Damocles to end my exile? ” he asks.
The Olympians have faded from power, yet the firebird remains in her cave, awaiting the proper time to summon those who fell by a rising sea to claim the land beyond the North Wind.
