Twisted Tales to Delight and Amaze

The Good Life

The Good Life

“This ale is mighty tasty,” said Finnegan.

The gnome lived in the forest hollow and had no plans to move any time soon.

“Home is where you hang your hat, and mine is right here,” said Finnegan.

Brewing, baking, and sleeping were the three things the gnome loved to do. Finnegan would make his way into town and buy his supplies from the general store.

“Will that be cash or the usual method of payment?” asked the clerk when the gnome checked out.

“I’ll not touch that filthy paper. It’s not fit to wipe your bum, let alone put in your pocket,” remarked the gnome. He then placed a gold nugget on the counter.

Before he moved to Folksburywoods, Finnegan was a miner. The gnome worked hard for years. One day, he struck a vein of gold big enough to retire for the rest of his days.

Now the wee bit of a man relaxes. He drinks his ale and talks to whoever stops by. In most cases, that would be the birds.

Village folk love stopping by and sharing a tale or two over an ale and fried rinds. “I lead the good life here,” Finnegan tells his friends.

Most could never dream of living such a simple existence. Most aren’t Finnegan the forest gnome.

We should listen to the wise little man and live a little while we’re still in the pink. It couldn’t hurt, could it?
