Twisted Tales to Delight and Amaze

The Howling

The Howling

“The morning is always the same. I’m covered in dried blood, and an exploding headache,” Rob told his friend.

“Aren’t you tired of it? It’s been three years since your attack. After all this time, you still have found no way to reverse the curse,” said Dave.

Rob and Dave had grown up together and were as thick as thieves. After the first transformation, Rob called his friend. Dave came and helped dispose of the body. He never asked a question.

“It appears the only way to end this is if you shoot me with a silver bullet. Care to try?” said Rob with a wry smile.

“Right and end up in the can, no thank you,” replied Dave.

“I could jump off the roof and land on the spiked wrought iron fence out front,” Rob said.

“An interesting idea,” said Dave with a chuckle.

The truth of the matter is that Rob would have no regrets ending it all, except for the howling. After the kill, the energy poured through his body, leaving him howling at the moon.

“I guess you’ll never know,” Dave muttered. “Both of us know there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell you’ll ever stop.”

“Suppose you’re right. Shall we head out for a pint at the Black Dog?” asked Rob.

“Sure, and some fish and chips later, unlike you, I haven’t eaten since yesterday,” chided Dave.

“Still, chips do sound good after last night’s feast. I think he was a vegan,” said Rob, grabbing his coat and heading out the door.

“Let’s hope your next one is a little more plump around the waist. I wouldn’t want to see you waste away,” Said Dave.
