The Queen’s Throne

The Queen’s Throne

Alone in the forest sits a Queen on her throne.

No one dares approach her for certain death awaits when she speaks.

Those who seek her counsel scrawl notes on parchment and leave them near her throne.

The Queen’s replies are written on the back and retrieved when she is out.

Power is hers, but the price is loneliness. If she should speak, her voice would stop your heart, so none approach the throne when she is there.

“One day I will die. Another will sit atop this stone prison. May the gods have mercy and end their reign with haste,” said the Queen one lonely night.

For now, the Queen sits in silence, hoping the Reaper will show his respects soon.

Funny thing is when I wrote it I was thinking of your work-few words, deep meaning. Thank you for the kind words as well.
