“I wonder if I added some ground caster seed if that would do the trick?” said Marcel.
The young woman had decided to show all those fools down at the market that a woman could grow prize-winning veggies.
“That’s the ticket!” cried Marcel one morning when she discovered her squash had doubled in size.
“Now, let me see, the grimoire seems to say that the scale of the dragon will promote growth. Let’s try three scales ground,” the woman remarked.
A day later, her pumpkins were the size of a wheelbarrow.
“The annual show is tomorrow, I hope they don’t gett better or else I won’t be able to take them to the fair,” Marcel said.
Finally, it was the beans’ turn. “Eye of toad, that should do it,” murmured the woman.
The following morning, Marcel loaded everything onto her cart for the festival. “That eye was just the trick. Beans the size of watermelons,” cried Marcel.
Arriving a little late, Marcel noticed all the other gardeners staring at her in stunned silence.
“Oh, these little things are nothing, you should see what I left behind,” the woman said with a wry smile.
After hauling home a cart full of trophies, Marcel sat in her garden and enjoyed the view.
“I guess they should have never teased a hedgewitch when it comes to growing veggies. Still, I did do a grand job after all,” said the witch
“Wait until next year and you’ll see what I can do,” cried Marcel.
