Twisted Tales to Delight and Amaze

The Wood

The Wood is more than trees, streams, and meadows. It’s the village, farms, mills, and the homes of the Shroomies and other forest floor creatures.

Two forces keep life in balance in the ancient forest. The first is Hälsa, or The Path.

The Wood is a living, breathing, and feeling entity. The Wood’s vitality is reflected in its inhabitants’ health. When the Wood suffers, we all suffer.

Our relationship is symbiotic. We need the Wood, and the Wood needs us. The Waldvolker or forest folk understand this relationship. Each member attempts to maintain the balance in a way known as Hälsa, or walking The Path.

As a coin has two sides, so do the forces of the Wood. Those who pervert and twist The Path are the Forlatt, “the forsaken ones.”

Misguided creatures such as rats, crows, and vipers are weak in Forlatt, unlike the Troth followers of Mörken. The Troth are all consumed with Forlatt, which drives their existence.

When the war between Mörken and the Waldvolker ended with the Troth’s banishment, many believed Forlatt would disappear.

Forlatt continues to play its dark role in the Wood. The arrival of the necromancer was such a case.

While their existence is often overlooked, the Shoomies are essential in maintaining balance in the Wood.

Through their mycelium network, the Shoomies send Hälsa to restore balance in the Wood.

Life in the Wood is no fairytale, but a place where one feels at home. Each member does their part to ensure that Forlatt never overcomes Hälsa.

Ãlskad is the beloved forest. It has stood since the dawn of time due to the efforts of all who call the Wood home.

Aha, a philosophical comment today! I like that you take your creation so seriously. It deservers a solid framework of idealistic thought behind it.

I miss your comments at my site — http://www.dark.sport.blog — and am hoping you’ll drop by soon.
