Ignar loved his Sunday stroll in the dark wood. The goblin woke early and slipped out of the fortress.
“T’s a fine morning,” remarked the goblin as he strolled along the forest path.
Ignar would stop and marvel at spring blossoms as he made his way through the woods.
“Such delicate beauties,” said the goblin when he spotted a bunch of bluebells.
Ignar would not linger long, as he needed to return for morning roll call.
Today, the goblin found fresh honeydew blossoms. “My goodness, the fragrance is divine,” said Ignar.
As the sun cleared the tree line, the goblin stopped and listened to the forest’s music.
“Until next time. May you have peace and long life,” the goblet said, then turned and headed back to the fortress.
The return journey was hurried, allowing no time to enjoy the forest’s pleasures. “Today will be a glorious day,” Ignar said.
Arriving back at the fortress, Ignar changed into his battle gear. Then the goblin walked to the assembly area.
“Wake up, you dogs! We have villages to ransack,” cried the goblin.
The company assembled promptly. Captain Ignar led his raiding party out of the fortress for another day of mayhem.
“Nothing like a morning walk to get you in the mood for doom and gloom,” Ignar said with a wry smile.
