Twisted Tales to Delight and Amaze

Bamboozled

Bamboozled

Once, an Imperial Minister named Lee-Way was offered significant money to solve a complex problem.

“I shall endeavor to seek out the truth and provide the Emperor the solution he desires,” said Lee-Way.

The minister walked for many days and nights through dense bamboo forests. Finally, he reached a high mountain lake, which inspired deep thought.

“I must drink the water of wisdom and be enlightened. Then I can ponder the question set before me,” Lee-Way said.

His mind grew calm as he sipped the cool liquid, and images floated before him.

“Aha! The solution is simple,” said the minister, returning to the Emperor’s palace.

Lee-Way bowed deeply before the sovereign and said. “The correct end of a boiled egg to open first is the one that greets you first.”

The court remained silent as all the ministers reflected upon Lee-Way’s words, then, after a moment, raised a cheer.

“Hip, hip, Hooray! Lee-Way has solved the great question,” cried the court.

The Emperor signaled for quiet, then declared, “It is way past time we have breakfast, boiled eggs all around.”

When facing a pressing problem, follow Lee-Way’s example: Look for the solution that appears before you and go with the flow.

But could Lee-Way solve the perennial thorn-knot of global war, or mass inequities? *grinning*
