Twisted Tales to Delight and Amaze

Just Wait Until Halloween

“We’ve done it this year, Aloysius,” said Jack to his cat.

The annual harvest festival holds an enormous pumpkin contest. Jack enters and loses to Myrtle Pineberry of Happy Acres Farms every year.

“I can’t wait to see that pomus woman’s face when I unveil these beauties,” chuckled Jack.

Pumpkins run in the family. Jack’s great-great-uncle was very famous. You may have seen a picture of him under the arm of the headless horseman.

“The Kürbis family name brings pride to all who hold it,” said Jack.

“Time for sleep, tomorrow is a busy day,” said the pumpkin man.

As the two settled in for the night, Jack couldn’t help but think of the trophy that soon would be his.

“Tonight we dream of greatness and tomorrow we make it happen,” said Jack with a smile.

For Jack, this year was special. For the first time, his dream finally came true.

Needless to say, Ms. Pineberry was not happy taking second place. “Enjoy your glory now. Wait until next year, Mr. Kürbis,” said the woman.

“No, Ms. Pineberry, you wait until Halloween,” said Jack with a wry smile.

The thing about Jack’s pumpkins is that they stalked those who were unworthy on All Hallows Eve.

“It seems you are unworthy, this year, Ms Pineberry,” muttered Jack, who scooped up the trophy and headed home.
